Jill Welham: Artist/Printmaker/Photographer

Hi, my name is Jill Welham and I’m a photographer and printmaker living and working near Richmond in North Yorkshire. I have a small studio at my home where I make cyanotypes and etchings.
My work is inspired by nature and I harness the power of the North Yorkshire sun to create botanical cyanotypes in my garden. I enjoy walking in the great outdoors and garden visits. I collect botanical specimens which are pressed and later used to make my work.
I love finding patterns in nature and the serendipity and experimental nature of the wet cyanotype process means that no two pieces of work can be the same. Every detail of a fern frond or a transparent flower can be captured and memories of the garden come together in each print as reminders of summer days, bringing a piece of nature directly into your home. I hope that you enjoy browsing my website. Original prints can be purchased from my Etsy shop but if you have a personal project in mind then please do get in touch to discuss your ideas.
